SchneiTec Chint Co., Ltd, a joint venture between SchneiTec Group and CHINT Group, is a leading provider of electrical products and solutions in Cambodia. The company has recently completed a project to supply solar home systems (SHS) to rural households in Cambodia under the KfW’s Recovered Funds for 2021 program. The project aimed to improve access to clean and affordable electricity for off-grid communities and promote renewable energy development in the country.
The project involved supplying 346 units of 500Wp SHS with 4L PANASONIC rice cookers and 1,312 units of 50Wp SHS to selected households. The SHS are standalone systems that provide electric power to operate lighting and other household appliances using photovoltaic modules, batteries, charge controllers and inverters. The SHS can generate electricity even without direct sunlight and can store energy for use at night or on cloudy days. The rice cookers are energy-efficient appliances that can cook rice using the SHS power.
The project was successfully handed over to the Electricite Du Cambodge (EDC) on August 02, 2022. The handover ceremony was attended by representatives from SchneiTec Chint, EDC, KfW and the local authorities. The EDC conducted testing of the products and confirmed their quality and performance. The project beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the SHS and rice cookers, which improved their living standards and reduced their dependence on kerosene and candles.
The project is an example of how SchneiTec Chint is committed to providing high-quality electrical products and solutions that meet the needs and expectations of its customers. The company also contributes to the social and environmental development of Cambodia by supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy and enhancing energy security and resilience.
