SCHNEITEC CHINT is a company that provides high-quality and reliable electrical solutions for various projects and customers. One of the recent projects that SCHNEITEC CHINT completed was the supply of CHINT MV switchgear 10 panels for EDC, the national electricity company of Cambodia.
The MV switchgear panels are designed and manufactured by Chint Electric Co Ltd, a leading global provider of low-voltage electrical products and power transmission and distribution equipment. The panels are assembled in SCHNEITEC CHINT’s workshop in Cambodia, where they undergo rigorous quality control and inspection. The panels comply with the international standards of IEC62271-200:2011 and GB/T3, which specify the requirements for metal-enclosed switchgear and control gear for rated voltages above 1 kV and up to and including 52 kV.
Before delivering the panels to EDC, SCHNEITEC CHINT conducted a factory acceptance test (FAT) on 30 November 2022, according to the EDC’s requirements. The FAT is a process of verifying that the equipment meets the specifications and expectations of the customer before it is installed and operated at the site. The FAT ensures that the equipment functions properly, meet quality standards, and complies with safety regulations.
The FAT for the MV switchgear panels consisted of several tests, such as:
- Five-prevention interlock test: This test checks that the interlocking devices prevent incorrect operation or access to the live parts of the switchgear.
- High and low voltage operate test: This test verifies that the switchgear can be operated normally under different voltage levels.
- Main circuit resistance test: This test measures the resistance of the main circuit to ensure that it is within the acceptable range.
- Power frequency withstand voltage test at the primary and secondary circuit: This test applies a high voltage to the primary and secondary circuits of the switchgear to check their insulation performance.
The FAT results showed that the MV switchgear panels passed all the tests and met all the criteria of EDC. EDC representatives witnessed and approved the FAT at SCHNEITEC CHINT’s workshop. SCHNEITEC CHINT then delivered the panels to EDC with confidence and satisfaction.
